i let my iphone recharge overnight, in which the battery lasts for about 8 hours with active use.
to have it fully recharged, i think 2-3 hours will suffice.
You should only charge it for the time until your phone tell u that the battery is full. That should take only about 1.5/2 hours
*EDIT* Charging the battery for too long(over night) will kill the ions inside and reduce battery performance!
