Is the iphone 3G stand by key and screen suppose to be slightly slanted?

well my iphone 2G’s stand by screen isnt…not so sure about the 3G.

It is not suppose to be like this. You might want to return it for another at an Apple Store.
Working with the store return is easy. I call Apple support and tell them the problem then ask to have it returned at a local store. They then setup an appointment for you. This way you can essentially walk in at that time frame and have it looked at by a person, instead of over the phone, and they will replace it. They are really good about this stuff. I have returned two of my 2G.
