Some apps in the App Store do not work with the iPod Touch. iPhone has no stylus either. If you don't have AT&T, and like your phone service, get the iTouch. if you have at&t, get teh iphone. iPod Touch has no stylus.

The base model iPhone is expensive with very little storage for music and applications. You can get a good bit of storage on an iTouch for about the same price. As far as phone service goes, you get ONE service provider option with an iPhone and it is about #4 on the list of the big guys... which means you are missing out on the top 3 choices. That service is terrible in my area so an iPhone it completely out of the question! I just got an iTouch and I LOVE it. I'll still carry around my cell phone. The Touch is the iPhone without the phone. You don't get cellular service, gps, or a 2mp camera with the Touch. Though the second generation touch does have a Nike+ receiver built right in.
